A foundation to preserve Water

The Race for Water Foundation is a charity dedicated to water preservation. This indispensable resource is under massive threat from plastic pollution and must be protected. The Foundation aims to identify, promote and help implement solutions that give end-of-life plastics a value and therefore prevent the plastic pollution of our waterways. Using an innovative approach inspired by the principles of a circular economy and social entrepreneurship, the foundation seeks to create new sources of income for the people most affected by pollution by giving an economic value to plastic waste.

Let's gather together to preserve water, the most precious resource on the planet.

Our solution to plastic pollution

It is clear that an efficient grand-scale clean-up of the oceans is unrealistic. Treating plastic waste before it ends up in the water is a necessity. Our objective is therefore to give plastic waste a value through an innovative technology that transforms plastic into energy.
This approach, based on social entrepreneurship, creates job particularly for the underprivileged. The process of energy production also has substantial environmental benefits by significantly reducing plastic pollution.

In April 2017, Race for Water embarked on a second oceanic tour with its project, the Odyssey of Hope. On board a very special boat, an integrated mixed solar-hydrogen-kite-powered vessel, the Foundation team wants to demonstrate that energy transition is happening now, and that solutions do exist to protect our oceans from anthropogenic pollution.
